We regard sustainability not just as responsible management of the natural surroundings, but also in the purchasing of regional foods. We cook everything from fresh and are especially proud of the fact that we get our beef and veal fresh from our own farm in Obsteig. No breakfast can be without some Zillertal farm butter and fresh dairy produce from Hintertux farmers.We are a partner of Sennerei Zillertal and of certified hay milk producing dairy farms. We get all our bread and baked items from Dorfbäckerei Stock in Lanersbach. Fruit and vegetables are on the whole from farmers in Inntal.
We have placed a particular emphasis on environmentally friendly energy in our new building, and have around 200m² solar panels on our roof. This means we are able to produce around 60,000kwh of environmentally-friendly energy. This is mainly used for underfloor heating, for our swimming pool and our heating units. With energy recovered from cooling units and from air extracted from our air-conditioning systems this also means we are a low-temperature user.
Our pellet heating system - due to the rising costs of fossil fuels and our increasing environmental awareness we decided to construct a new building, with an integrated 450kw pellet heating system. Modern wood-fired heating is environmentally friendly and is an economic alternative to conventional heating systems which use fossil fuels.
By way of comparison: oil heating produces around 303 grams of CO2 per kilowatt hour, while pellet heating produces just 42 grams.
Waste separation and responsible waste disposal throughout the hotel is a matter of course here. This is our contribution to careful management of our wonderful homeland!
