Hintertux Glacier
365 days of snow fun
Whether in spring, summer, autumn or winter, Hintertux Glacier provides thrilling adventures and exciting encounters throughout the year. Hintertux Glacier is the only summer-time skiing area in Austria. Due to its altitude location and the optimum weather on the Hintertux Glacier, almost all the pistes and lifts are able to operate year-round.
Wedel across 40 km of ski pistes or use the unique Betterpark for snowboarders. Participate in one of the popular glacier tours, or pay a visit to our unique Gletscherflohpark (Glacier Flea Park).
Whether you are young or old, everyone will get to experience a real high in the Hintertux Glacier ski area. Nature’s Ice Palace at the Hintertux Glacier awaits, with mysterious ice formations and glistening ice crystals in an area shrouded in myth and legend.
Glaciers are and remain a very special natural attraction. No matter what time of year you pay a visit to a glacier, you will always be impressed. From time to time its mightily impressive appearance between bizarre ice fields, crevasses, rock masses and snow dunes engenders even greater respect for this wonder of nature. In the summer you can clearly make out the millennia-old localised layers of ice particularly well when looking down into one of the turquoise blue ice formations.
