Summer is coming - what a glorious time of year! Of course, this is also when city dwellers have the oppressive heat to contend with and allergy sufferers must withstand an onslaught of pollen... Here in Hintertux, however, thanks to our location at altitudes from 1,250 to 3,250 metres, you may enjoy a relaxed holiday in the fresh mountain air, without runny noses or teary eyes.

Hikers and mountaineers alike will enjoy leisurely tours or challenging summit conquests, with the waterfalls along the Tuxbach, the Frauenwand, and the High Alpine Nature Park of the Zillertal Alps promising unforgettable moments in a majestic natural setting. Cyclists may look forward to a trail network spanning 120 km in the Tux valley, accessible for both mountain bikes and e-bikes. If you fancy a reminder of what winter is like, enjoy some sunshine skiing on the Hintertux Glacier. There are lots of ways of experiencing the Tyrolean mountains, and climbing a rugged rock face, feeling the stone up close and personal while exploring your own limits, is definitely among the most intense ones. Nine via ferratas with varying levels of difficulty and three climbing gardens that are suitable for all levels of fitness and skill, promise unbridled climbing fun in Tux. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, the indoor climbing centres in Aschau and Mayrhofen make good alternatives. Those who don’t mind getting wet should try canyoning, rafting and tubing, while adrenaline junkies can prove their mettle while paragliding.
