GLACIER WORLD IN SUMMER
At the Hintertux Glacier, skiing is possible longer than in other regions. As the only ski resort in Austria, the glacier offers year-round snow fun. At 3,250 m, 18 km of perfectly groomed slopes and the Betterpark for snowboarders await you—under bright sunshine. Younger guests are also well taken care of: The Gletscherflohpark entices with a snow playground, and in the lower-lying Flohpark, there’s fun and games in the great outdoors. However, 365 days of snow fun doesn’t mean the same conditions prevail everywhere. Every season—spring, early summer, fall, or winter skiing—has its own unique features, ensuring that skiing on the Hintertux Glacier remains varied throughout the year.

THE FLOHPARK SOMMERBERGALM
For those who’d rather let off steam in the great outdoors than in the snow, the Flohpark Sommerbergalm is the perfect spot. Things get lively at the family playground at 2,100 meters. A visit to the Flohpark after a day of snow fun is also a real treat—it’s the perfect way to burn off energy in every way. Little glacier fans bravely scale the well-secured climbing wall, zoom around in the popular pedal go-karts, or have fun in the play castle. The giant slide offers some truly thrilling fun. And while the kids let off steam, adults can relax on the Sommerbergalm’s sun terrace.
The playground at the Sommerbergalm is also barrier-free and easily accessible with a stroller. Open from June to October, admission is free for everyone!
THE GLETSCHERFLOHPARK AT 3,250 M
Together with Luis the Glacier Flea, little glacier heroes can experience many exciting adventures at 3,250 m in the Glacier Flea Park on the Hintertux Glacier: the snow tubing run and the snow tire carousel in the Glacier Flea Park are real crowd-pleasers for kids. There’s also a Snow Flea photo station where plenty of snapshots are taken—the perfect souvenir of your visit to the Hintertux Glacier with the whole family. And a snowball fight in the middle of summer isn’t just great fun for the kids.
Glacier Flea Luis looks forward to every new playmate and offers all children up to age 10 a free round-trip ride. The ascent is barrier-free and therefore accessible with a stroller! Open from July to September.

Spring and Fall Skiing – Homebase Alpenhof
The valley station is just a minute’s bus ride from the Alpenhof—and before you know it, you’ll be immersed in an unforgettable experience in the Hintertux Glacier Ski Area, with pleasantly warm temperatures and bright sunshine. The slopes are at your disposal, letting you give free rein to your passion for skiing: In spring, enjoy the firn snow under the warming sun, while in fall the clear, sweeping views make every turn a special experience. Freestyle enthusiasts can also let loose to their heart’s content at the Betterpark Hintertux and perfect their jumps and slides there (open from April to early June & from September to December).
Refreshments with a view
After enjoying plenty of runs on the glacier slopes in the sunshine, it’s time for a break: round off your skiing experience with a stop at one of the cozy restaurants on the Hintertux Glacier. Enjoy the sweeping, seemingly endless view from the panoramic terrace of the Tuxer Fernerhaus at 2,660 m. The contrast between the majestic glacier and the green valleys far below is a truly special sight.
