Thanks to the altitude and ideal weather conditions on the glacier, many slopes and lifts can open earlier and stay open longer than in many other ski resorts. You can reach the valley station from the Hotel Alpenhof in just one minute—a free shuttle bus picks you up just 50 meters from our front door. (Every 5 minutes from October to May)

SLOPES FOR EVERYONE: SKI VACATION ON THE HINTERTUX GLACIER
Beginners and experienced skiers and snowboarders alike can enjoy a wide variety of terrain across 62 kilometers of slopes of all difficulty levels in the Hintertux Glacier ski area. A highlight for deep-snow enthusiasts are the fantastic freeride runs in the Lärmstange area. Snowboarders and freeskiers appreciate the freestyle opportunities at the Betterpark Hintertux at 3,200 m or at the beginner-friendly Familypark Hintertux on the Sommerberg. Little skiers can practice at the Gletscherflohpark on magic carpets and baby lifts.
THE MOST BEAUTIFUL DOWNHILL RUNS ON THE HINTERTUX GLACIER
Take a break at nearly 3,000 m: At the Spannagelhaus, located at 2,531 m, skiers can enjoy a rustic mountain hut atmosphere, relaxing moments on the sun terrace, a bar area with an open fireplace, and culinary delights in the full-service restaurant. The Spannagelhaus is open only during the winter season. At the Tuxer Fernerhaus, open year-round at an altitude of 2,660 m, guests can enjoy the “Wirtshaus am Tuxer Ferner” restaurant, which includes a panoramic bar, a large self-service restaurant, and a sun terrace with free lounge chairs.

To ensure you have a smooth start to your day on the slopes, we’ll issue your ski pass in advance when you make your reservation or at the front desk. If you need skis or ski gear, you can rent them at a 10% discount from the Nenner sports shop next door. In our state-of-the-art ski room, every room has a lockable and heated ski and boot locker. So nothing stands in the way of your skiing adventure in Hintertux!
A 2-day ski pass or longer grants access to the entire Zillertal ski area, featuring 542 kilometers of slopes and 180 lifts.

SUNSKIING ON THE HINTERTUX GLACIER
If you want to extend your ski season well into spring, the Hintertux Glacier is the perfect place for you. Thanks to guaranteed snow conditions from October through May, skiers can carve their turns on perfectly groomed slopes even under the mild spring sun. Fun and excitement are also guaranteed at the glacier spring event “Flower Pow(d)er”: exciting guided tours, workshops, opportunities to test the latest winter sports gear, and snowboard freestyle coaching sessions attract guests from near and far.
