High altitude hikes around the Hintertux Glacier
Trip tips: Hiking routes at Alpenhof in the Zillertal
The popular hiking region around Hintertux in the Zillertal promises a variety of trips – some cosy, some challenging. You should not miss out on the following hiking tips when you go hiking in the Tyrolean Alps:
Hintertux Waterfall Trail
From the starting point of the Sommerbergalm at 2,100 metres, you hike past numerous mountain inns and subsequently reach wild waterfalls and steep rock faces. Particularly worth seeing on this hiking route is the split boulder, the whale's mouth, which obtained its name due to its characteristic shape. A further refreshment awaits you at the Schraubenwasserfall waterfall and at the Kesselwasserfall waterfall. In the process, you hike through slight ascents and soft forest floors – a trip with numerous facets.
Hike from the Sommerbergalm to the Kasererscharte wind valley to the Frauenwand
Here, too, your hike begins at the Sommerbergalm. On this demanding trip, you cover 10 km and receive fantastic views of the Hintertux Glacier, the Lärmstange and the Tux Alps. A true experience for experienced hikers.
At Hotel Alpenhof, we are happy to advise you on many other hikes in your Tux-Finkenberg holiday region and on other activities such as mountain biking and climbing. Book your stay in Tyrol online straight away or request your personal holiday offer.
